Since its opening its doors in July 2021, our Service and Logistics Centre in Itapevi has played a key role in enhancing mission effectiveness and safety for the regional helicopter fleet, benefiting operators, crews, and the communities they serve.
The investment we’re making in the Itapevi facility will increase maintenance hangar capacity by 50%, enabling us to accommodate an additional eight helicopters while taking the total capacity to 24 aircraft at any one time.
The project forms part of our network expansion strategy and will boost operational capability while reinforcing our ability to support future growth in Latin America, where we have been present for more than 50 years. The Itapevi investment strengthens our wider network across the region, which includes Leonardo-approved Service and Repair Centres in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, and Venezuela.
The existing facility was originally designed with ample space to allow for future development—and now, with the continued growth of our fleet in the Brazilian market, that vision is becoming reality.
With 280 helicopters performing a wide range of missions, primarily VIP/corporate and offshore, in Brazil, efficient fleet support and proximity to operators are strategically vital. The Itapevi Logistic Support Centre is located on an 80,000 m² site (including 6,000 m² of buildings and infrastructure) and already offers comprehensive maintenance and support services.

Following the expansion, the Centre will provide both line and base maintenance for AW109, AW119, AW139, and AW169 models.  New services to be included through this latest initiative will enhance components repair and overhaul capabilities as well as painting and completion activities to further support new aircraft deliveries in-country.
