The AW109 GrandNew responds to the market demand for a helicopter that blends performance, speed, payload and operational flexibility, together with lower environmental impact. Capable of operating in the most severe conditions, it is a top-of-the-range light twin-engine multi-role helicopter, offering the highest safety through advanced navigation and situational awareness technology.
Missions & Features
The AW109 GrandNew is optimised to excel in the challenging conditions associated with Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Search and Rescue (SAR) missions over land and water. The helicopter complies fully with safety, performance and effectiveness requirements to carry out the toughest missions.
The helicopter features a state-of-the-art glass cockpit with four-axis digital autopilot to reduce pilot workload, and increased situational awareness via a Synthetic Vision System (SVS) and Helicopter Terrain Awareness and Warning System (HTAWS). The AW109 GrandNew can perform in the most severe conditions, including ‘hot and high’.
The unobstructed cabin space allows complete access to the patient and can be configured in a wide range of layouts including single or dual stretchers with up to four seats for medical attendants or up to six seats for Medical Evacuation (MEDEVAC). The spacious interior can accommodate an extensive range of emergency medical equipment.
