Combined with a three-engine configuration and 30-minute run-dry transmission, under the protection of a sophisticated Health and Usage Monitoring System (HUMS) ensuring the highest standards of safety.

A Fully Integrated and Scalable Defensive Aids Suite provides AW101 the capability to discern and suppress threats. Rapidly reconfigurable with Crew-served weapons in three positions allows the helicopter to provide fire suppression during recovery operations. Tactical communications enable the AW101 to integrate seamlessly into the modern digital battlespace providing voice, data and video communication capability.

Mission systems, such as advanced 360°surveillance radar, Electro-Optical (EO) device, Electronic Support Measures (ESM), sonar/sonics solutions, and weapon capabilities ranging from torpedoes and anti-ship missiles to crew-served weapons, enable the AW101 to autonomously conduct Anti-Submarine/Surface Warfare and Maritime Patrol/Interdiction operations.

The AW101 provides customers with greater mission flexibility, thanks to a comprehensive range of equipment that enables the platform to be configured for swing role operations. The large sliding door and rear ramp ensure rapid personnel ingress/egress and equipment loading/unloading.
