The first maintenance base for Italian public service helicopters in southern Italy has been inaugurated at Leonardo's site in Brindisi. The new Service Station will provide first-level assistance to helicopters belonging to the Italian Armed Forces and state bodies.

Cutting-edge structures and specialised skills, with investments in innovation and maintenance technician training. These are the pillars of the new hub for the maintenance of Italian state-owned helicopters, inaugurated at the Leonardo site in Brindisi.

Four thousand square metres, seven areas dedicated to maintenance, including one for heavy repairs. The new Leonardo Service Station will provide first-level assistance to 150 helicopters belonging to the Italian Armed Forces and state bodies.

As Gian Piero Cutillo, Managing Director of Leonardo's Helicopter Division, explains, “Maintenance is a very important part of product management. Alongside routine maintenance, predictive maintenance is becoming increasingly important, i.e. being able to predict what to do and when to do it.”
